Meghan Dubois
Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate
Previous School Counselor
Welcome! My name is Meghan, and I work with children, adolescents, teens, and adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, self-esteem challenges, behavioral concerns, emotional regulation, and life transitions. I work with children beginning at age 4 and strive to create a supportive and welcoming environment where every client feels comfortable, accepted, and genuinely cared for throughout the counseling process.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and client-centered. I utilize Child-Centered Play Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) approaches, tailoring treatment to each client's developmental level, individual needs, and goals. With younger clients, I incorporate Child-Centered Play Therapy to provide a developmentally appropriate way for children to express themselves, explore their emotions, and work through challenges.
I am currently completing extensive specialized training in play therapy as I work toward becoming a Registered Play Therapist (RPT). I am passionate about continuing to grow my knowledge and skills in play therapy and believe that children communicate and process their experiences in unique ways. Through play, children can express thoughts and feelings that may be difficult to communicate through traditional talk therapy.
I believe that each person has unique strengths and experiences, and I strive to meet clients where they are while creating a safe space for growth and self-discovery. Whether you are seeking support for your child, teen, or yourself, I am committed to building a trusting therapeutic relationship and helping clients develop coping skills, strengthen relationships, build resilience, and create meaningful change.
